Our work combines education, practical support, creative activities and shared experiences. We respond to the needs we see and develop our programmes step by step.
Melina Women
Melina Women is a welcoming place where women can meet, spend time together and take part in activities that encourage learning, creativity and exchange.
Cooking, baking, sewing, crafts and upcycling are part of the programme. There is also space for conversations, information and learning new practical skills.

EcoKids
EcoKids is an environmental education programme for children from the local community and refugee families.
Through gardening, recycling, creative projects and hands-on activities, children discover their environment and learn about sustainability and responsibility.

Excursions
Excursions give women and children the opportunity to discover Lesvos, visit historical, cultural and natural places and experience the island beyond their immediate surroundings.
The excursions combine learning, discovery and shared experiences. They also create opportunities for people from different backgrounds to meet and learn from one another.

Housekeeping Training
Ariadni offers a practical six-month training programme for women who want to gain skills and experience for employment in the tourism sector.
The training combines practical work with a small amount of theory and covers areas such as housekeeping, kitchen work, laundry, breakfast service and workplace organisation.

Food Support
Ariadni also provides food support to people and families who need it.
Food distribution responds to an immediate need and is an important part of our practical support on Lesbos.
Working together with Hoffnung leben
Ariadni Lesvos works closely with the German organisation Hoffnung leben e.V.
Several educational and empowerment programmes are developed and supported by Hoffnung leben and take place at Ariadni or with the support of the Ariadni team.
EcoTeamEurope
EcoTeamEurope provides environmental education for children and young people. The programme is developed and supported by Hoffnung leben and is carried out in cooperation with Ariadni on Lesbos.
Lerncafé Online
Lerncafé Online supports people in learning German and developing confidence in everyday communication. The programme is run by Hoffnung leben and uses Ariadni’s facilities and local support where appropriate.
Let’s Talk
Let’s Talk creates opportunities for women to exchange experiences, gain information and strengthen their confidence and participation. The programme is run by Hoffnung leben and takes place at Ariadni, using its spaces and local support.
