Small groups > personal connections

We deliberately work with small groups.
This allows us to give participants time, attention and space to take an active part in the activities.
Small groups also help us create a familiar and trusting atmosphere.
People get to know one another, friendships can develop and participants are more likely to feel comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions and trying something new.
For us, this is an important part of learning and participation – and one of the reasons why we do not aim to make our programmes as large as possible.

Melina Women & Teenage Girls

Melina Women & Girls offers a space to meet, learn and take part in creative and practical activities.
The programme includes food preparation, creative work, personal care and opportunities for exchange and learning.

EcoKids

EcoKids is an environmental education programme for children from local and refugee communities.
Through nature experiences, environmental education and hands-on activities, children learn about their surroundings and develop curiosity, responsibility and confidence.

Excursions

Excursions give women and children opportunities to discover Lesvos, experience nature, culture and history, and share experiences outside their everyday surroundings.

Housekeeping Training

Ariadni offers a practical six-month training programme for women who want to gain skills and experience for employment in the tourism sector.
The training combines practical work with a small amount of theory.

Camp Support

Ariadni also provides practical support for people living in difficult conditions, including food support, meals for children participating in EcoKids and laundry facilities for programme participants.

Let’s Talk About

Let’s Talk is a women’s and teenage girls‘ empowerment programme jointly developed by Hoffnung leben and Ariadni. Ariadni organises and delivers the programme locally on behalf of Hoffnung leben.
