A space for women & teenage girls

Let’s Talk About is a programme for women and teenage girls who want to exchange experiences, ask questions and learn more about topics that affect their everyday lives.
The programme creates a safe and welcoming space for conversation, information and mutual support.

Let’s Talk About was developed jointly by Hoffnung leben e.V. and Ariadni Lesvos.
The programme is organised and carried out locally by the Ariadni team on behalf of Hoffnung leben.

Talking about what matters

The sessions address topics that are relevant to women’s health, everyday life and participation.
Depending on the group, topics can include women’s health, contraception, relationships, rights and opportunities in Europe, everyday life, education and ways of participating in society.

The programme also gives participants space to bring their own questions and experiences.
Not every group needs the same topics, and the conversations develop from what is relevant to the women taking part.

Learning through exchange

Let’s Talk About is not a traditional classroom.
Information is shared, questions are encouraged and participants learn from one another.
Talking with other women and teenage girls can open up new perspectives and help participants understand that experiences which may feel very personal are often shared by others.
The programme also creates opportunities to practise communication, express opinions and become more confident in speaking up.

Finding your way

For women and teenage girls who are new to life on Lesvos or in Europe, information and conversation can make everyday life easier.
Let’s Talk About helps participants become more familiar with their rights and possibilities, understand where they can find information and support, and gain confidence in navigating their new surroundings.

Part of Ariadni

Let’s Talk About takes place at Ariadni Lesvos and is closely connected with the other activities offered there.
Guests who take part in Melina Women & Teenage Girls, the Housekeeping Training or other Ariadni activities can also find opportunities through Let’s Talk to exchange information, ask questions and connect with other women.

The different programmes complement one another while remaining distinct.
